Koromiko is a common native shrub growing to 2-3m found throughout the South Island, typically found around forest margins. It is an important plant in Māori medicine, with a wide range of uses. Its attractive white flowers and habit also make it a popular nursery plant.
It is one of the largest varieties of hebes.
This example was observed at Karaka Point at the northern entrance to Waikawa Bay in the Marlborough Sounds.
