Lomaria discolor or Blechnum discolor Petipeti/Piupiu/Crown Fern  is a moderately large sized fern endemic to New Zealand. It is found throughout the country in forests, and is also sold as a garden plant as it is easily propagated. It can grow in large clumps up to about one metre in height. It is frost resistant and can tolerate both shade and sun, but requires a reasonable amount of moisture.

This example was observed near the north bank of the Wairau River in Mount Richmond Forest Park.
