Koromiko is a small rural settlement between Blenheim and Picton. The surrounding area has a number of dairy farms, and a small, private airport operated by Sounds Air.

Up until 2012, Koromiko had a school but due to a falling roll, the school was closed and students transferred to either Picton or Tuamarina.

Previously, a cheese factory was based in Koromiko producing eponymously named cheese, before production was transferred to a Tuamarina factory, although the brand survived until the Tuamarina factory was destroyed by fire.
