The Snout Walkway begins in Victoria Domain above Picton and passes through regenerating coastal forest to the Snout lookout point at the entrance to Waikawa Bay, which provides good views of Queen Charlotte Sound and Waikawa Bay.About mid way along the track there is a clearing and picnic table.

Most of the track is quite straightforward, however there are a few slightly steeper sections and the track can become muddy and slippery after rain.

Weka can be occasionally seen along the track.

Time to walk the track will vary depending on fitness, however it is reasonable to allow at least an hour each way.
