Common Flapjack (Carpophyllum maschalocarpum) is a large marine brown algae (seaweed) endemic to New Zealand, found around the North, South, and Chatham Islands. It is found in rocky areas from the lower intertidal zone down to about 9m depth, often in dense patches. It has fern-like fronds with oval floating bladders.

This example was observed in Robin Hood Bay, Marlborough.
