Codium convolutum or rock velvet, is a green algae (seaweed) found throughout New Zealand growing on rocks in the intertidal zone. The algae forms irregular dark green lobed covering on rocks with a velvet like appearance, hence the common name for the species.

This example was observed in Lochmara Bay.
