Wahlenbergia violacea or violet harebell is an indigenous flowering plant found throughout New Zealand, typically on clay soil. 

Flowers are small blue or violet, 10-20mm diameter on long, branching stems up to about 50cm with several flowers per stems. 

Flowering is mid spring through to autumn.
