Blue Shield Fern (Polystichum oculatum)

Blue Shield Fern (Polystichum oculatum) is a fern native to New Zealand found in lowland coastal forest and scrublands. P. occulatum is closely related to P. neozelandicum. This example was observed in the Sutherland Stream catchment of the Wither Hills Farm Park.
