Taylor River in Flood 2008

For much of the year, the Taylor River in Blenheim is a dry bed under the Burleigh Bridge, but during heavy rain the situation can change dramatically. This footage shot on 30th August 2008 shows how the normally dry riverbed can become a raging torrent. During this period of torrential rain, a number of normally dry streams around Marlborough flooded causing considerable damage.
